Introducing the 'Sea to Sea Safari'

Last October, there was a group of Manx Club Directors who made the pilgrimage to Nags Head, North Carolina to check out the Manx-on-the-Banx annual event. We all were so impressed with Vince Simansky and Bud Zeller, Officers of the Mid-Atlantic Manx Club Chapter, and the spectacular event they staged for the third time. So much so, that all of us decided we would add the annual MOTB event into our calendars from that day forward. Right after we had that epiphany, we focused our attention on France and Vincient Parisien, who have driven their buggy through every one of the United States, some more than once, on their annual treks from Quebec to California and North Carolina. Their enthusiastic recounting of the long range travels they took soon had us fired up as well. If they can drive to these events, why can't the rest of us? Well, a few adult beverages later, and soon all of us had committed to driving our buggies from California to North Carolina in 2013.

It is in this spirit that I am so very happy to announce the inaugural 2013 Manx Club Sea-to-Sea Safari! The club is invited to join us either on a portion of the run, or tag along for the whole trip. Coming to you this October, the run will be close to 2,800 miles long and driven entirely in buggies from San Diego California, to Nags Head, North Carolina. Some will ship their cars back from there for the return trip, while others will drive both ways. Please check the Manx Club website for further details.

Here is the latest proposal.
The plan has a average miles per day of 463 mile.

Day 1-Thurs, October 10, 2013 - Mission Bay, San Diego, CA to Tucson, AZ - 423 miles -- 10 hours
Day 2- Fri, October 11, 2013, Tucson, AZ to Roswell, NM.- 460 Miles -- 10 Hours
Day 3- Sat, October 12, 2013, Roswell, NM to Oklahoma, OK - 469 Miles -- 10 Hours
Day 4- Sun, October 13, 2013, Oklahoma City, OK to Memphis, TN - 466 Miles -- 10 Hours
Day 5- Mon, October 14, 2013, Memphis, TN to Asheville, NC - 500 Miles -- 11 Hours
Day 6- Tue, October 15, 2013, Asheville, NC to Nags Head, NC - 448 Miles -- 10 hours
