This Manx II was built over a one year period with a lot of learning along the way. The floor pan is from a 1968 Beetle that was originally an auto-stick that I converted to a manual. Everything was either replaced or freshened up. The rear trailing arms have been swaped with the shock mounts rewelded to get the least negative camber while lowering the rear. The front has an adjustable beam and drop spindles with Chevy lug pattern drums on all fours. American Racing Hopster wheels (15" and 17") get the car rolling. A couple of Porsche qualities have been incorporated with this project including the paint color Arctic Silver. Also donated from a Porsche are the 356 taillights, 914 gauges and seats. A Billet Specialties steering wheel matches the wheels and the Gene Berg shifter makes for crisp shifts. To get the Manx down the road is a 1776cc motor with dual 40mm Dellorto carbs. The car was a joy to build and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I really have to thank my Father for all the bolts and other odd parts I needed to get this car going. It would have never happened without him.
