Robert Wren Membership No. #1535 Tag No. UK-00-23 I built this buggy with the help of my good friend Mark Gosling. We fully restored the late 1947 floorpan from an old buggy and bolted on a tangerine Manx body. I made numerous one off parts and polished the heads of all the stainless steal bolts that are used throughout. We spent a lot of time getting the stance right and sitting on period banded steel wheels to fit in with the late sixties feel. It’s pushed along by a 1994cc engine with all the right bits, and twin Gene Berg special 44 carbs. Being a restorer of antique clocks I fitted a vintage aircraft chronograph to compliment the Moon gauges and Auto Meter monster tach. This ‘old school bug’ is great fun and drives hard! |
