I just finished this buggy after over a year of work (My automotive students helped a lot). I took my first drive a few days ago....very exciting. It is an authentic Meyer's Manx based on a 1961 pan. I started by rebuilding the engine last summer. I took a type 3 motor that had been butchered and made it a type 1. I had to sand all of the gelcoat off because it was cracking from years of exposure. I also bought a new hood and drop-down dash (to save time on the sanding). I used a wiring harness and switches, and fuse box from a 1971 Beetle. The paint was mixed to match the colour I had in my head. It looks great in the sun!
