This is our ’68 Manx (M1996F826S) purchased in June 2004. This buggy was restored from the ground up during the summer of 2000 by someone in New Lenox, IL. It was sold in 2003 and transported to the last owner in Houston, TX. I found it on TheSamba.com, bought it sight unseen (just pictures), and had it shipped to us on the east coast. Our buggy was re-built on a ’67 swing axle pan with a 1600cc DP. The finish on the body isn’t the original gel coat, but a nice paint job and color none-the-less.

Our little blue beauty has gotten more attention, waves, thumbs-up, and dreamy-eyed looks from more people than our other FG car (‘vette) ever did. We have found the buggy appealing to kids of all ages (6 to 60+). It’s amazing how many people have approached us when we have been out driving in it and told us about the buggy they used to have. Then they walk away mumbling to themselves how they wish they still had it. My wife and I enjoy every minute of riding around town topless and soaking in the beautiful Carolina-blue skies.
