I built my El Lobo Dune Buggy for exploring and camping in
the deserts of Southern California. We call her "Old Sue"....
She's like a Pack Mule that'll go anywhere. The pan is from
1963 with an IRS conversion and PRP suspension seats that
make her a really comfortable ride. The adjusted front torsion
springs give additional lift. The tires are BF Goodrich AT
31-10.5-15's in the rear and 225-70R-15 in the front, mounted
on chrome spoke wheels with KYB gas-adjust shock absorbers
on all 4 corners. A complete roll cage and 4-point seat restraints
were added to protect my family if she ever decides to roll
over and scratch her back in the sand. The body has the original
white gel coat and the rear was customized with teardrop tail
lenses to give her that "real sporty look". The motor is a
1915 cc, with a 500 cfm Edelbrock, carburetor mounted on a
Johnnies 4-Play intake manifold and a Sidewinder Exhaust manifold
from Meyers Manx. This combination gives Old Sue, One-Hell-of-a-Kick.
My family and I have really enjoyed the fun, adventure, and
new friends that this little car has brought to us. Thanks
for looking.
