Since my father first sponsored off road race cars in the
very early 70's, and I got to see them running in Baja, first
hand, I've always had a passion for two things. Baja and driving/racing
off-road. I've always wanted to build my own Manx type buggy
but never seemed to get to it.

One day, about a year and a half ago A friend buys two fiberglass
buggies and comes to my house. One, complete no motor. The
other, just the fiberglass with headlights AND loaded with
holes! He makes me a deal, I build him a motor and he'll give
me this fiberglass. WOW! Now is my chance! I put body in my
garage and get to work. I allow no one to see it. All my friends
are betting I go 'hog wild' on this project.(a-arm front and
3x3 trailers in the back. King coil overs all around maybe
a Subaru motor for it?) I glass ALL the holes to start from
scratch. While I send out the body to be painted, Corvette
yellow (what else?) I start on a pan, cut and welded in my
garage. Out goes the trans for rebuilding. The motor, I do
all myself. All the cable cutting, myself. The short of it
is, I did the WHOLE car, except the paint and trans... IN
MY OWN GARAGE! Well I have to live my life like I want it
and I have to build something so close to being a real Manx
(not a bad replica, BTW) like I want it, too. It's all pretty
                  simple.

                    - 2
                      seats

                    - a
                      cable fuel gauge

                    - a
windshield (now cracked after 'tearing' around San Felipe
                      this weekend!)

                    - windshield
                      wipers (manditory to register here)

                    - beefed
                      up springs, front and rear

                    - 1835
engine and close ratio gears. ( what can I say? I gotta
keep up on the outtings down to Gonzaga Bay!)

                  All
photos were shot during her maiden voyege and coming out party
in San Felipe, for the San Felipe 250. (look close, I'll bet
you see a racer in the backround of one of the shots!) Special
thanks to my father. Bruce Meyers,( who gave a photo op for
my neice in tech at the Baja 1000 (great photo, BTW!) now
she's hooked on them!) for starting it all. AND to Tecate
Beer, B.F. Goodrich tires and Off-road.com who's support for
off-road racing keep it going strong! PLEASE don't drink and
                  drive!
