You are looking at a 1966 vw chassis with a dunbar hawk body made in framingham massachussetts, im guessing somtime early 70s.

The name hawk comes from the former red sox player Ken harolson who promoted the dunbar company. This was a ground up project that started with stripping it down to nothing and starting over. It was left apart behind a barn for 15 years. When i picked it up to all 4 wheels were seized solid, It had to be dragged by my pickup and the floor was left with trees growing through it.Not to mention a lot of parts were missing. After a whole summer of sand blasting, painting, welding and ordering parts twice a week my good friend and i have restored this fun buggy and is now a daily driver.

This is what my dune buggy consists of:

1966 ball joint chassis
coil over shocks front and rear
solid mount tranny and engine
1641.cc engine with a mild engles cam
new dual port heads with a three angle valve job and oversized valve guides
skat intake with DFAV two barrol carb
chrome tri mill bobcat header and muffler
empi bolt on aluminum valve covers
complete new wiring front to back
chevy 14 inch rims
1994 cavaleir front seats and custom back seat

This motor has only 100 miles on it and i plan on putting many more on it driving it everywhere i can This whole project was done in one summer under a 10 by 20 tent with a few lights and a cheep sand blaster that made the biggest mess ive ever seen. Il say this it was worth ever bit of it. I am addicted to buggies , im 26 and dont think ill ever grow out of my dune buggy.
