FANTASY ISLAND - 1998 (This show was filmed on the southern part of the ranch not
accessible on the Ranch/Movie Tour. The recent Bruce Willis filming (2002) has since destroyed the
dwellings on this location.)
Synopsis: A darker and much more twisted take on the premise, this version of
"Fantasy Island" bore little resemblance to the original 1978 tv series.
This time around, the character of Mr. Roarke was taken over by character actor
Malcolm McDowall. Sinister yet somehow charming, Mr. Roarke hung up his white
tuxes in the pilot to don a more stylish black suit, which was foreshadowing of
the change in the character. His powers, which would often defy nature, were
taken to the ultimate extreme as he summoned lightening and storms, terrorized
his prisoners (and sometimes guests), and even changed the gender of one man.
KRIPPENDORF'S TRIBE - 1998
Synopsis:
Anthropologist James Krippendorf is a single dad trying to raise
three kids. For the past two years he's been living off of grant
money to study an "undiscovered" tribe in New Guinea.
Word comes that his lecture is due but there is no tribe. Out of
desperation Krippendorf uses his own family who become the "Shelmikedmu",
a fictional tribe.
Cast: Richard Dreyfuss, Jenna Elfman, Lily Tomlin, Natasha
Lyonne, Gregory Smith, Carl Michael Linder, David Ogden Stiers |

THE PHANTOM - 1997
The legend of "The Phantom" began four hundred years
ago when a small boy witnessed his father's savage murder at sea by
pirates of the Sengh Brotherhood. Washed ashore near the Bengalla
Jungle, the boy swore an oath of vengeance -- to fight piracy,
cruelty and injustice in all its forms. That boy became the first
Phantom, creating a sacred tradition passed down from father to son
over twenty generations. No one understood how The Phantom survived
the centuries unchanged, and so believed him to be immortal. They
dubbed him "The Ghost Who Walks."
The Phantom (Billy Zane) is up against the evil Xander Drax
(Treat Williams) whose main goal is to obtain three magical skulls
and use them together to possess vast amounts of power so he can
became the absolute dictator of this world. In order to stop Drax
from getting the skulls, the Phantom battles a bunch of rogues who
are recruited by Drax with the aid of Diana Palmer (Kristy Swanson), Hero (his horse),
and Devil (his wolf). |
